I appear to be gradually recovering from Crazy West Coast Headcoldathon 2007, and am also working on building up a comic buffer again like I've been meaning to!
I always forget how much more relaxing it is to draw strips a day or two in advance. I had more time to mess around with the artwork on this one, hopefully the results are pleasing to you. Colored irises make a (triumphant?) return!
I'm really looking forward to where this little arc is going. Lots of fun jokes and stuff, I think. Complicated drawings too! I picked a good time to start getting ahead of schedule again.
I just started reading the Love Roma manga and I like it a lot. It's got a really quirky art style, closer to something like Bryan Lee O'Malley's work on Scott Pilgrim than traditional manga. And it's a very cute little romance comedy, which I'm always a sucker for. You should check it out if you like them wacky Japanese comix.
